DEAP – Nurturing Personal Development and Empowerment of Young People with Visual Impairment through Arts Education
The DEAP project supports young people with visual impairment across Europe (Italy, Czech Republic, Poland, Cyprus, and Sweden) by promoting personal development, creative expression, and active empowerment through arts education. It also enhances the professional development of youth workers and educators working with this group, equipping them with innovative, arts-based educational approaches in ceramics, theatre, and contact music.
Objectives
Engage: Analyze and map the educational and socio-economic challenges faced by young people with visual impairment.
Connect: Develop and implement transnational training courses for youth workers in Italy, Czech Republic, and Poland.
Empower: Conduct local workshops led by trained youth workers, culminating in a final transnational seminar in Italy to share insights and co-develop recommendations.
Spread: Create open educational resources (e-learning platform and modules) to ensure long-term impact and accessibility for youth workers, educators, and stakeholders across Europe.
By integrating arts education, DEAP fosters psychomotor, cognitive, soft, and artistic skills, enabling young people with visual impairment to unlock their potential and actively participate in their communities and the EU society.
