Florence, Italy – A series of student courses exploring climate-responsive urban design has officially been launched, with a focus on improving both environmental sustainability and citizen health.

In collaboration with project partners from Università degli Studi di Firenze, Chalmers University of Technology, University of Cyprus, Building Health Lab, and Technische Universität Berlin, the initiative introduces architecture students to the innovative U-Care methodology for designing greener, more inclusive, and climate-adaptive cities.

The program kicked off with an international seminar hosted by the Department of Architecture (DIdA) at the University of Florence, setting the stage for training sessions to be held across all partner universities. Alongside the seminar, a stakeholder workshop brought together local community members in Florence to identify pressing urban challenges and co-develop ideas for walkable, climate-resilient urban spaces.
